Other then writing great content targeting keywords I want I typically leave most of the other on page alone. I have found it too easy to get into penalty when everything is totally optimized. What I really focus is on the off page. I have been using hand built, niched down PBN's with excellent results for years. I try and buy them with a TF of 25+ and keep the OBLs < 5. With regard to anchor text ratio's I keep all my money keywords and compound monies to less then 5%. Everything else I do generic, brand or naked url. I do want to stress do not use public PBN networks. Those can get you in trouble easily. Moreover, they tend to get deindexed quickly. Build the PBN's yourself. It's really that simple. With this system I have been able to rank some pretty competitive keywords fairly easy. One other tip I would give you is focus your site on building your email list. It's something that Google can never take away from you. It's also the best source of income for most people as the Inbox is very intimate. Hope that helps
