Its Depend upon you if you like your body with muscle and great shape then you choose jim but if you want to become fit with lots of stamina and fastness in your body then football is the best sports give you fitness.
I think just gym is some kind of an artificial way of becoming healthy - it's just about appearance. I chose for myself swimming, playing ultimate, capoeira and badminton sometimes. As for the gym, the floor for push-ups and a bar for chin-ups at home are enough for me.
