it's been 2 days ago already! i'm curious to know how people from England react about that. That's pitty for english fans are probably the best but well, at the same time i cannot be totally sad coz i'm french anyway, i think Mac Laren sucks coz he had great players like Lampard, Terry, Gerrard, Beckham or Rooney and couldnt even qualify the team to the Euro. Have Fun in June... watching your TV lol
They had the Euro handed to them by Israel and they still managed to loose, what a bunch of losers....
There's quite a few threads on here already saying what we think. It's pretty 100% unanimous that we got exactly what we deserved; certainly there are no complaints about the result on Wednesday. Also this time no one is blaming cheating foreigners or incompetent referees who are the usual scapegoats. People have finally realised that, despite the place football has in our culture, the English national team is second-rate. Why this should be so is, finally, the question being asked. The popular cry is "too many foreigners in the Premiership", but I don't support that view. English football has always been full of 'foreignerers' - only in the old days they were Scots, Welsh and Irish. My own personal gripe is the way football is played at junior level. No one under 10 should be playing football matches, and certainly not with the touchlines crammed with over-enthusiastic parents and coaches shouting things like "don't muck around get rid of it!" every time some lad shows a bit of individuality. We're not teaching kids the basics and letting them be comfortable with the ball.
Ohne England, fahrn' wir zur EM ... I will miss you guys at the final in Vienna Greetings from Germany
Err... the normal European championships? When have England done anything of note in the Euros anyways?
England do add glamour to every tournament that they go to At the end, from the POV of a completely neutral football fan, you've got to ask yourself, " Is the quality of football on display going to suffer because of England's absence ? ". The answer, painful as it sounds, is a resounding NO.
Well we can wait for the World Cup, right? It's just as good of an excuse to goto the pub, wear an England shirt, chant football songs and get drunk.
Absolutely! I shall miss singing "There were ten German bombers in the air" next summer! I shall probably support Poland as there's loads of Poles living around our way. They've got a bar that they drink in so I'll probably go down there during their matches and support them.
