I am designing a website for a client in which I used "Franklin Gothic" font in the navigation bar. Client wants to have the menu as Text, not image links. Can Franklin Gothic font be used as text menu? I am not a coder that's why asking.
Well, what you would have to do is check: 1) If this font comes readily available with fresh installations of Windows 98 and up. If yes: Then yes. If no: Then, it is better that you do not use this font.
There is another way but I don't know if your client will accept it. You can use flash and the font will be embeded. You can also use sIRF
sIFR is one was, Typeface.js is another, @font-face is another which might not be legal for you depending on the license you own Franklin Gothic under. Doing your menu (but not the rest of thr site) in flash is probably the easiest, fastest, and the one that would work reliably on all operating systems and browsers. Franklin gothic is nice too....good choice!
