I guess that register.com itself has booked it yesterday. ------------------------- WHOIS on who.is Domain Name: laos-airlines.com Status: ACTIVE Registrar: REGISTER.COM, INC. Whois Server: whois.register.com Referral URL: register.com Expiration Date: 2007-12-28 Creation Date: 2003-12-28 Last Update Date: 2006-10-27 Name Servers: ns1.xname.org ns0.xname.org ns1.afraid.org ------------------------- Damn, I used register.com to check availablity and Whois for this domain yesterday and they themselves booked (parked) it before I could. Question: I have a list of such domains that (almost) have expired. How can I protect other domains from being booked by register.com and networksolutions.com? I have to use some registrar after all and if they themselves book the good ones, I'm nowhere. The same has been happening with networksolutions where they are showing a domain available but are not registering it.
About .co.uk domains from Nominet: When a detagged domain name becomes due for renewal, Nominet has a duty to contact the registrant of the detagged domain name to confirm that they do not want to renew the domain name before it can be cancelled. Once a registrant has confirmed they no longer require their domain name, or has not paid their renewal invoice by 30 days after the expiry date, the domain name will then be suspended for 60 days. After the 60 day suspension period the domain name will be cancelled and will then be available for registration by someone else. IT
The .co.uk domain got expired in the beginning of august 06. so we're well over 75 days now. And it says "Available" in both register.com and networksolutions.com anyway. So the grace period is out of question I guess.
