Folders/Structures of my web hosting

Structure of my web hosting:

Here's what I see

.cpanel-datastore
.fantasticodata
.neomail
.trash
etc
mail
public_ftp
public_html
tmp
www​

Although I may be able to guess from the names of the folders, it is an unreliable way to learn/understand.

Does anyone know what all these folders are?
What're their uses?
Any article talking about them?

why don't you have a an educated guess they're pretty self descriptive just don't go fiddling with something you don't know what does hehe

.cpanel-datastore - about cpanel, but what is it actually?
.fantasticodata --- about fantasico, but what is it actually?
.neomail ---------- what is it? the same as mail?
.trash ------------ store deleted folders/files in the trash
etc -------------- ??
mail -------------- same as neomail?!?
public_ftp -------- the main folder where my site is, but it's the place where public can upalod/download it
public_html ------- the main folder where your site is
tmp --------------- a trash folder again?!?
www -------------- world wide web?!? What's its use?

 

I noticed that you are using fantastico, which can automatically install may programs with one mouseclick. I noticed in another thread that you are having trouble installing Drupal. Just open up the controlpanel and install Drupal with Fantastico.

I have a similar setup, all of my public files are in the www folder.

 

But the problem is the Drupal in Fantastico is not up-to-date.
It's just 4.6.2
The newest is 4.6.3
That's why I do a manual install.
