Those who are familiar with the fmyscript script should know how it works. My site is up and running but for some reason links within posts on the main site are not clickable until the individual post is clicked (you have to navigate to another page). Basically, URL's are not clickable in posts on main site This is a pretty important customization and I'm sure others have done it. Does anyone know how to make URL's clickable from the home page so that users don't have to click on each individual story to click a link...? To see what i mean, check out http://www.makesulol.com For example if you see the 3rd post: "LOL Story of the Day #20 http://www.flickr.com/photos/53179500@N03/5005470139/" you cannot click the flickr link from the home page. You have to click the individual story to be able to click it. So for those who have used Fmyscript before, I would really appreciate it if you could help me solve this problem.
Compare the index page template with the one for the single page. It should be easy to spot the difference where the links are created.
Thanks for responding so quickly! I tried that actually but what the code does is it references many different files and there are .tpl files and .php files. I have some experience with programming but I am not a pro so it's hard for me to do that...
Yeah, unfortunately it's not a free script so I can't see it. It should look something like this, where [LINK] is the function that retrieves the link: <a href="<?php [LINK] ?>"><?php [LINK] ?></a> But I'd say that the index page just has the <?php [LINK] ?> part, and not the anchor tags surrounding it. It might even use two functions or shortcodes, like one that shows a text link and another that shows a hyperlink.
The code is a little more complicated than that. Is there any way I could send you the files so that you could look into it and help me out?
Have you tried getting help from Scriptolution? They provide good support for their products. If the script is as complicated as you say, that would be the place to start.
Haha. I've tried getting help from them but they just say customization is needed. I need this done thought because it's really important. Do you think I could send you the files somehow so you could help me out?
Okay so I have the license for the script now and everything but contrary to what you said they do not provide customization support :/ "Free support is only available for the default script, not any customizations." that was their response. I really need links to be clickable from the home page and I have absolutely no idea how to do it. You can see what I mean at my site: makesulol.com
If you could find the code used to display the story on the single-view page and copy it over to the main page, that could get you somewhere... Kind of weird how the purposely blocked links on the main page though.
