.fm Domain Extension Value - Good or Bad?

I was curious if domains with the .fm extension are valuable and if they sell well. I recently came across a fantastic one-word dictionary domain available with this extension, but want to make sure it is worth it to pick it up (especially since it would cost about $100 or so to register it). It is taken in almost every other extension there is. Any thoughts on this would be great.

    It depends what it is.

I cannot speak for other areas of the world however, here in the UK, radio stations are often called names like Atlantic FM, Pirate FM etc, so in this instance, a .FM extension would work very well for them.

Case in point, a while ago here at DP, I saw someone selling a domain via a link at Sedo for Pirate.FM - at the time the domain only had a day to go on the auction and the price was a measly $400.

I straightaway sent an email to Pirate.FM the radio station here in the south west to let them know about the domain for sale there at Sedo, for which they were very grateful.

So yes, in these situations the .FM does hold value in my opinion.

As I reiterate to everyone though, do your research first!

Happy to assist and wishing you every success in the future!

I guess it has a good value depends on the radio station if they will buy it or not :)
