Hi all, I bet you can help! My client's site has recently (2 months ago) suffered loss of almost all rankings on Google and Yahoo. The site has not been removed from indexes and there is nothing but original content on the site. There is nothing "black hat" in the background, no hidden text, anything like that. The site is clean. Google has 186 incoming links in its index, yahoo 63,200 links. The rankings on MSN are v.good. Page Rank is low ( PR3/2 ) so I dont expect site to compete for top terms, but at least niche ones (especially that 2 months ago the site was doing well in SERP'S) I buy links for this site from many different sites. The same linking strategy works very well for my other clients. NO other site has such problem and I'm using more/less same sources of incoming links. The site is quite young (1.5 years) but it used to rank high for at least niche keywords (very little competition), now it is on the very end of SERP's. It looks like Google/Yahoo put a filter on it. But WHY?! I've been trying to work out this problem for last few weeks- with no luck. It is driving me crazy! Please help!
post the url otherwise who knows. Its possible the places you are buying from are recognized as bought links and devalued... but again who knows if you dont post the url
www.mattcutts.com has said repeatedly that buying links is frowned upon. If you are just building paid links and they are all devalued then you are left with nothing. You say the other sites are fine but what happens if they suffer the same fate in 4 weeks time?
I treat buying links as a shourt term strategy- they work for now and drive my clients traffic and business via natural search rankings. At the same time I am building permanent link popularity by submitting sites to quality directories and exchanging links with relevant sites. Buying links delivers results, but I am aware that it won't last forever. However, if Google is now ignoring all "paid" links, why is it ranking this site much worse than before? We've added many "good" links from directories, e.g yahoo directory?
Maybe the paid links were helping the site before but now they have been detected and are devalued leaving the site with less quality links. I'm not saying this is the case and I didn't have a good look at your site but when you mentioned paid links it rang an alarm bell. The only thing to do whether its due to the paid links or not is build lots of good quality relevant links.
hmm I show zero links in yahoo and of course zero backlinks in google... what was the main question again ? zero links in msn
WTF? Artur please explain yourself Your site has no content and google only has one mention of the domain and no search engines have any links?
