    My template: webdesigncool.com/retrosimplicity

My goal is to get rid of the content sliders and make the page re size vertically depending on the amount of text. My only problem is i don't know where to begin. The background is a solid image, so i cannot simply repeat it. Is there a way to say only display the top x number of pixels of the picture WHEN NEEDED automatically? So the second image of the background below the first will display only as much of it as needed to fall beneath the pages text.

or, do i slice it horizontally in a 1px strip and repeat and hope it doesn't look terrible.

    or is there something else...

Personally id just make a horiz joint effect ( horiz piece of wood or same as your horiz ends) at the bottom in the psd and vertically repeat it if you know what i mean so it can tile...in a wrapping div for your page with some bottom n top margin with body's bg as black. Just an idea. This is why it's always good to plan this sort of stuff ahead when designing.

Hey you actually bought this template from me :D (I'm WebsiteTiger from sitepoint) well the thing is I had the content solid because the background looks very nice on its own. If you want to you can take the last pixel of the wood image and have it repeat vertically and remove the scroll tag from the css. That will make the content flow automatically. :)
