This question pertains to the many Flickr plugins (for Wordpress, various CMS's, etc) that can be downloaded. Is there a greater chance of appearing in a Google Image search by inserting an image on a webpage the traditional way, as opposed to putting that image up on Flickr and having it appear through a plugin? Has anyone tested this out?
I preffer image on own website. I see flickr images all the time but they go to flickr not site that uses them. I might be wrong but i have better luck with image on own site.
why do you need to flick for your images? putting your images to your own web space is better for seo
The only reason I'd consider it (I actually still don't have a Flickr account) are for blog pages that have 40-50 images I'd want to list on them. It would be a pain to manually insert each image.
Google image is indexing images using the alt tag and the text surrounding it. If you post it on flickr you couldn't optimize the alt tag as easy as you put it on your site. Although flickr is indexed faster by google, since there are tons of images on flickr your image will have the same chance when put on your site. Well, that my 2 cents.
