I would suggest for a backup functionality for database files to a FTP account.

What is the advantage of not having a database?

    Following up on @sarahk's question.

No database often means typing EXACTLY the SAME thing over and over again. Why would anyone want to waste time like that? Why would anyone want to chase the same typos over and over again? Why not have a database where ONCE WRITTEN and ONCE PROOFREAD, the content can be used over and over again without worrying about typos?
