Hi, Ok so I am marketing 2 new sites, via ppc primarily and manually requestling link exchanges (btw. this is SOOO time consuming! ) I've also used Craigslist for one of the websites. I am getting 10 articles written to submit to article directories (of course now i am on the hunt to find the directories I just did one of the ineedhits.com things where I purchased quick submission into google (not sure if this works) what other marketing strategies work? is it worth it do do the banner exchanges/link exchanges? do they work? is it worth my time to continue to find sites that are similar categories as mine and ask for link exchanges etc. do Directories work? Well if you're using directories make sure to use keyword specific anchor text, otherwise it's more or less a waste of time ubless you get a fewtured listing. There's about 500 free directories to submit to at www.pagex.com. Colm

I presume you are a dog-person (if not, then ignore the next idea ). How about making few hundred flyers with brief information about your site. Then, every time you take your dog out for a walk (or visit dog park) and meet another dog owner - why not hand him/her the flyer? I suppose if you would go out anyway, and meet dog owners anyway it doesn't require much work from you. Secondly: have you considered buying some another dog site for you? Some people are selling dog sites & articles in the "Buy, sell, trade" forum and I suppose you could drive traffic from these sites. Alternatively you might want to buy some links or blog posts from those sites. Thirdly: have you considered making a press release? "Dog Park Dating Site" is quite unique (well, at least for me) approach so it might catch news. You even might consider contacting some local newspapers and tell what you are doing. Fourth idea: you are already doing this, but I would either write or order articles on your website. At the moment your tips/articles seemed empty. Get/write 10-20 articles for each category (for starters) - you might also consider combining this tip with the next one: Fifth idea: contests. People love free stuff. Perhaps you could invent some sort of contest and give prizes... that could be anything from dog food to dating cruises... (tip: if you combine this with the 4th tip that would mean you would arrange a "writing contest" where people would write dating/dog/whatnot tips/articles for you and best writers could earn $100... or those cruises/etc.) Good luck with your site.
You could always use a website like Hoovers to get more information about the company and their financials
I have a great idea for you: make a few YouTube videos either about dogs or about dating (your singles/dog park business could make for the type of funny videos I think would be popular on YouTube). If you look on youtube, cute dog videos can get like 2 million views. Then just watermark your video with your domain. There is huge potential there. You can also upload the videos to other popular video sites like google video, yahoo video etc... Also check out http://www.TubeTraffic.com
