Hi, I have a 3 PR full flash website, but not have good rank in SE. Anybody know how to make good position for full flash website? I am planning to use method: - mak a folder html in the root, - put html content based on flash version - put javascript detection, if flash detect go to flash version, but if no flash, keep in html section. - html section is use meta title, keyword and description My logical thinking is: google can't read a flash website, so will read the html section first, and ranked the page, and when a visitor click on the result of search, will be directed to the flash version (everybody has a flash plugin today). do you think it is a good method ?
Honestly the best way to rank in Google with an all flash site, is the rebuild the entire thing in HTML and then point the Google, Yahoo and MSN bot to that file. See Nike.com as an example.
the way we did it was rebuild the entire site in valid HTML and CSS, then only allowed the ip addresses of the bots to view this version of the website. I would recommend you talk to a SEO pro to make sure you do not get in trouble for this. I have only seen this successful for big sites that usually have large adwords accounts (they can get away with more).
As suggested, make an HTML version. It's not good to have a landing page as your index (that's the first page a search engine spider sees). I'd vote the javascript detection route. Another idea would be to minimalize the use of flash, and only use it to compliment your site instead. That way the links and content of your site are HTML and you wouldn't need to make a whole other version.
