I have a 10 second flash video (.flv) as a banner on the top of my home page. The video ends on my logo and freezes. I am a bit concerned that people who dont have a correct or updated browser or a fast enough connection and they get a blank or errored box instead of video or image. Question: Is there something I can do so that if people have the right connection they see the video, if not, they see only the logo? Or should I use some other filetype to ensure people dont see a site with no logo on top? Thanks all.
You can add your logo over your FLV video banner, so that even people with bad Internet connnection they can see your logo throughout the FLV banner. Check this Image Watermark Plugin for Web FLV banner, and this is tutorial.
I prefer to use the Flash banner. But I am not in favor of using flash extensively. Using well optimized png or gif is good enough. @dream party: Thank you for the tutorial, it is really useful.
