    Hi

I would like to start learning Flash for flash websites, what is the best program to buy for this? Or is it programming?

I'm a little bit in the dark about Flash.

Also is Flash a good thing? Or a big no for websites?

Flash is sooo 1990s. Unless you've got a really good reason to use it, I would keep well away from 100% Flash sites. If you really want to do it, then you'll simply have to bite the bullet and buy it.

Yeah, I personally don't like flash, because it takes to long to load, but as a website designer, I love to learn new things. ;)

I would say it depends on the type of site you are creating, if it's a website that needs a lot of movement like a movie clips and such you may want to use it, the best is when you can integrate flash elements with your html site.

For this you can use software like e-frontiers Motion artist

Flash is good for certain things such as an animated banner or streaming video, but to create a site soley in flash is not a good idea in the area of SEO and getting found, search engines have a hard time knowing what is in an .swf file.

I don't think flash is soo 1990 at all. Some markets ned high impact websites (flash) and others don't. You have to use Flash wisely, that's all. By the way I have 5 100% Flash websites which rank first or at least 3rd in google with the major keywords.

I expect an entertainment site to be flash.
There are a ton of flash sites with good PR.

Thank you all for your inputs... I agree with huesped if the flash is used wisely I can't see why the site will turn out badly. I've visited many flash sites and most of them are pretty amazing.. Though some where not that good and took a long time too load. but I believe that most people use flash so that their content/pictures/video files can't be stolen.
