    Hi peeps

just to let you know i am one of those dangerous people with a little knowledge!!!

I am looking at doing something with video streamingusing an embedded flash player, but i want to project my video's.

Is there such a thing as Codec's for flash so that my videos will only work within MY flash player (ie if i have a flash player specifically made for me?)

I do not believe there are codecs for Flash in the way you mean it. My understanding is that all of the "codec stuff" is contained within the Flash Player.

I suppose you could try writing an application that works with the Flash Media Server (a pricey piece of software....though some companies allow you to buy hosting which might be better for small distributions), but that would have its own problems as well.

I think (not being an expert but at least having some experience in programming Flash) that what you are talking about is rather difficult at best.

However, if you want to pursue this, I would suggest going over to the Adobe support forums for Flash on Adobe's site. You might have to register to ask the question, but you might find a similar question being answered in their forums already.

    Good luck to you.
