Flash Desktop Programming

    Hi all,

I'm looking to do some Flash programming for the desktop. Well, in actuality I'm looking for a way to visually design a program like Visual Studio allows me to do, but make it cross platform.

I've tried MonoDevelop, but didn't really care for it - and something like AIR sounds like it might be good to try.

However, with Flex and Air, I'm a bit confused about which is the actual development platform that allows me to create apps for a desktop.

Can anybody help clear this up for me?

Also, what tools should I be looking to purchase outside of Adobe Flash (which I already own)

    Thanks.

Get FlashDevelop and the SDK to develop an AIR app without spending a penny :)

It looks nice! Does it allow for visual development of the GUI like Adobe Flash does?

It does, just code your models using FlashDevelop and your views using Flash IDE itself
