Craigslist Verified Accounts enable a Craigslist poster to: a) post a particular Ad to several Craigslist categories and cities (cross-posting); b) post numerous Ads the same day (multiple posting). Craigslist Verified Accounts are required if you are going to post to USA and Canada Craigslist in Services section. Craigslist can also ask Account verification by phone for posting also to other sections, if it has found, that a particular IP or a range of IP-s is used for intensive posting. ''Ghosting'' -- Craigslist measure to prevent spamming Craigslist has introduced ''ghosting'' of Ads in order to reduce over posting. Craigslist is monitoring posting activities and if it finds suspicious similarities in the Ads (the same title, text in the body, similar links etc), it will not show you Ad to Craigslist users (postings will not be listed), but at the same time the Ad will be shown as active (''green'') on your Craigslist account. Such Ads are called ''ghosted'' and the measure is called ''ghosting'' of Ads. However, in this situation Craigslist Account remains valid, it is not automatically deleted. Account still can be used for further posting (delete the ghosted Ad and post the next one or post it after 48 hours). Ghosting is a warning from Craigslist to follow its rules. If the rules are violated repeatedly, Craigslist can apply stronger measures: put the Account on hold. Therefore it is important to avoid the mistakes that could have lead to ghosting. Why the Accounts are put On Hold Craigslist can put your Account on hold (disable it), if it has detected serious violations of posting rules (over-posting and cross-posting). The most common reasons are: ''bad'' IP-s used for posting, IP not changed, insufficient posting delay, the same Ad posted several times, similar links in the Ad body. These Accounts can not be used again. Flagging of posts Craigslist users are its moderators. Flagging of Ads is connected with the title or content of the posts, but not the Account. Ads must be posted to the most appropriate category, they can not contain offensive information or violate the rights of 3-rd persons. It is not uncommon, that flagging is made by the competitors. Flagging does not ''kill'' your Craigslist Account, however, it raises alert to Craigslist and can lead to further, more serious actions. After the 48-hour interval, you can continue posting.
