    "believes there could be"
    "theorized"
    "could have led"

Sounds like solid science to me.

Is there even a historic record of moses leading the jews from eygpt, or does that exist solely in the bible?

Hmmmm, im of the opinion that if he had walked on ice (which would ahve been a certain rarity in a hot desert environment like Israel) then they would have definately mentioned it somewhere in the bible. I mean, walking on water is one thing, but making the water solid? That would have knocked any witnesses off their feet.

but as GTech said, with the "believes there could be" etc it is highly dubious claim as its not backed by evidence. More likely some professor trying to drum up a bit of controversy to try and make a name for himself.

I saw something about that this week on National Geographic channel. It seems that during the night the temperature drops to a point that “in some parts” the water can actually freeze.

Seriously I don’t know if it does or not freeze but I know that Jesus walked on water because the bible says so. For me that’s enough.

I find it so strange that so many people will question the Bibles authenticity but never take the time to read it. If you want to be amazed do yourself a favour and read the bible, from Geneses to Apocalypse. Don’t ask people for advice just read it like you would read any normal book and you will certainly see that there are thousands of things that people say is written in the bible that in reality is not.

PS : (Hell - aka South Africa) Have things gotten that bad?

You got to be kidding, you really think johna lived in the whale, you know how times the bible has been rewritten to suit whoever was in power?

Religion, myths, fairy tales etc, are fine. There is lots of like life lessons etc that are in there that help people live better together.

Some people need the threat of eternal damnation to make them not be assholes, but for the most part treating religion as science, and thinking whats written in the bible happened literally is crazy, at least to me.

and lorien the papyrus metions a bunch of people dieing and some slaves rebeling, there is no mention of moses, and its not even believed to be from the same time period as moses, but hey if you have faith maybe its proof

Seems to me like the professor is a shrewd PR person, how many websites I wonder are talking about his findings, whether valid or not.

You could make a living off of either proving or debunking various parts of the bible.

My only advice is read the bible from beginning to end. You will find a lot of things that seem unrealistic but are being proved nowadays by scientists.

Last time I was in SA was 8 years ago, must go back one of these days to check things out.

Generally I see programs on the National Geographic channel that explain new discoveries and how they relate to the bible.

Stories like this one are becoming more and more common.
    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33168

I’m not saying that this particular article has value in proving anything, I’m just saying that everyday more and more discoveries are being made that support what the bible says.

This one time, I stuck a tooth under my pillow... and the when I woke up the next morning there was money. That's all the proof I need to know the Tooth Fairy is real.   :D

Me to, but then I was five and now I'm 25. It's just harder for people to fool me now. Anyway that's just how I see it.

The tooth fairy is parallel to your beliefs in the bible. Maybe some day you'll grow out of that fairy tale too ;)

How about that guy in the red suit who comes down my chimney once a year? Don't tell me that guy isn't real, because he always eats the milk and cookies and leaves presents.

I have scientifically proved that when I go to sleep there are no presents and that there is milk and cookies on the table, and when I wake up there are presents and no milk and no cookies. I know the presents didn't appear out of thin air and that the milk and cookies didn't get consumed without soemone doing it.

The one I still haven't figured out is why the Easter Bunny has eggs though, hopefully somebody has scientific proof of that, I have seen pictures but they always looked faked.

A while back ago they had a theory about Moses leading the Jews when escaping from Pharoah. That when they crossed the sea. That it wasn't parted. That Moses and the Jews crossed over a shallow part of the waters. But it was a theory also I believe.
