Hey everyone, I'm trying to start a new blog using WordPress. I picked up a free theme, fixed up the site and everything, but I have one problem... At the footer of my blog, it says "all rights reserved. (a link to my blog)|(a link to some random website)" I want to get rid of the link to that random website. Does anyone know how I can do that? My blog: http://www.underageblogger.com/
Beware of fake WordPress theme/plugin sites, which is where you got your theme from. Delete that theme, and download from original site at http://www.skinpress.com/stripey/ (or another one that they designed if you wish) After getting the new theme, edit the file footer.php in the theme folder if needed. There shouldn't be a random link in there at all, but a link to the designer will be there.
@underageblogger: there are some themes whose footer, if changed, will show error. i see you're testing one such theme right now which showed you this message - "This theme is released under creative commons licence, all links in the footer should remain intact". you'll need to play around the corner for such themes.
go to dasboard wordpress appearance > editor > footer.php ctrl+F type link thay you mean, if you find it, you can delete it
