After I created a facebook personal account for myself, I read that I could have a business name added to my Facebook account. I believe they call it a vanity Url. So I got one. Right now when I go to my facebook.com/vanityUrl (for example) I see my Real Name(personal name) not the vanityurl name on the page. I'd like it so when people visit facebook.com/vanityUr that they see the vanityUrl(business name) on the page(wall), instead of my Real Name(personal name). So that visitors see all about the business/vanityurl, not all about me, personally. How can I fix this? Thanks
You would have to make a page for your business. You already used the url for yourself, so you'll have to come up with a variation for the business
If I am right you have the URL correct: http://facebook.com/businessname BUT when you go to the profile page the top left shows your real name? Click Accont top right and then Account Settings. First option, "Name". Change it and it will be what is displayed on the page and whenever you post it will be from that name.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, you are right, I "have the URL correct: http://facebook.com/businessname BUT when go to the profile page the top left shows your real name". When I follow your instructions and try to change my Real Name I get taken to this page list: "Before confirming your name change request, please read the following. Your Facebook profile must be attached to your real name. You must include your full name. Celebrity names, nicknames, or other fake names are not allowed and will not be approved. Obscenity, curses, and swear words are not allowed and will not be approved. ISn't~ ThIs <3 AnN0YiNg 2 ReAd? Non-standard capitalization and special characters are not allowed and will not be approved. Do not try to combine sentences into one word; Jane Lookatmysupercoolnewnickname Smith will not be approved." I'm guessing change name to my 'business name" would probably be considered a "fake name" and not approved. Am I correct? If so, are their any other options? Does "not be approved" mean they'd close my account?
I heard you can create page in FB without getting a personal account...why don't you create another one and make sure you do it right.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I could start again, but my business name won't be able to be switched to the new page/account will it?
I happen to have a facebook account too, and i was wondering.. Can I get your Email ads on FB, I'm just curious too see what you guys are talking about.
