The real question is how did they get to be so popular? Advertising? Word of mouth? Viral? Thats what I want to know. You can have a fantastic Idea for a website but it will never make you that kind of money unless you get that kind of popularity.

i guess there must be daily 25,000 orders atleast getting excahnged thr. so they should be making around 25k $ daily.

The problem with clone sites are that they are not original , I have seen these Fiverr scripts but trying to get to the popularity of the people who came up with the original idea would seem next to impossible to me, unless there was some kind of twist on it.
They are getting a huge amount of money, however, if you are thinking of making a site like Fiverr there are already lots of fiverr clones going about and popping up all the time.
I tried Fiverr, I really did. I could not make anything off of it though, maybe I am too traditional lol
I have seen some sites that "copied" the concept of fiverr but they failed to gain popularity and earn as much as fiverr does. I guess because fiverr came out first. I agree. 20% commission is a bit over. oDesk only gets 10% from each contractor's earnings, and it is charged to the client, not deducted from the worker's salary. In Fiverr, you will only be receiving around $3 from each task (less 10% commission and PayPal fee).
I love fiverr.com! It is a great place for outsourcing all the tedious work for internet marketing - think of all the time a simple fiver gig will save you. This is why they are successful. Because they fulfill an actual function and solve a problem of supply and demand.
