I'm not selling, but if I got the right offer who knows? These are 5 high traffic websites with great Alexa rankings. They all have image hosts that are linked to from thousands of forums, they all have traffic redirection services; commitcrime.com also has a forum; skrappy.org also has a blog. These sites are not ones which receive traffic from search engine hits and the like, their source of traffic are forums. The value is the high traffic, probably around 40k visitors for all sites combined. The combination of these has been estimated to be worth close to $150,000 by independant sources, but I want to know what real people and potential buyers would offer. The domains are: skrappy.org - Two years old; Alexa currently is 44,495, yesterday was 26,322, past week was 26,388. Alexa Stats Obviously this site will be much higher in Alexa rankings during the coming updates. toppichost.com - Six months old; Alexa is currently 34,295, yesterday was 15,783, one week average is 16,293. This site will also update very highly in Alexa soon. Alexa Stats picsie.com - Six months old; Alexa is currently 96,077, yesterday was 60,136, one week average is 84,516. This is an image host, and a GREAT domain name for an image host. Alexa stats commitcrime.com - About four or five years old; Alexa is currently 33,038, yesterday was 34,461, one week average is 42,496. I think this is a great domain name, it has a lot of value in itself. Alexa Stats qardinalinfo.com - About four or five years old; Alexa is currently 41,674, yesterday was 37,925, one week average is 41,350. The domain name is awful, but the rankings are good. skrappy.org - Mabye $150-$200 with the traffic, not that good a domain though. toppichost.com - Ok domain, good traffic, mabye $150-$250. picsie.com - Quite good domain, goodish traffic, $100-$200. commitcrume.com - Great, $300-$600. qardinalinfo.com - Bad domain, good traffic - $50-$150
wow that's crazy. i make more then that in a week that with my ads on those domains. if somebody could buy that kind of traffic for so little money they'd be cleaning up. and if that's a true estimate of their worth i need to start buying websites and putting my ads on there, that'd be a quick way to millions
You haven't mentioned the revenue you get for each site so how do you expect anyone to give you a site appraisal??????
i can mention my revenue but it's all from advertising, and everybody will get different revenue based on how they choose to advertise, so it's almost pointless to mention it unless somebody wants to clone my advertising model. if it was adsense it'd make sense to mention it, but these sites get so little from adsense i don't even use adsense. but, i get about 3k/month from all sites combined using adbrite and canep. to me, 1.2 million visitors per month is worth more 1400 bucks. that would be the deal of the century if anybody could buy that kind of traffic for so little. that's 1.2 million per month, 14.4 million visitors per year; let's say these sites stay up for ten years and the visitor average stays the same, that's 140,400,000 visitors for 1400 dollars. or we could look at it in pure dollars: $750/week, $3,000 month. in two weeks the purchaser would have made all of their money back plus $100. do you know many businesses that can be bought for 2 weeks worth of profit? $3,000/month, $36,000/year, $360,000 for 10 years. you buy that for $1400 and you've done pretty good. maybe i came to the wrong place to get my sites appraised
Indeed if there are that many visitors then it's worth money, but it sure depends on what kind of visitors. You have a free porn site, free image host, etc... I'm not so sure about the ability of such sites to make money per visitors compared to other sites. But anyway, with a lot of visitors you can make money. My issue here is : you sites look like they've been made up in an hour or so, hard to believe they have that kind of traffic. Backing your traffic claim with alexa ranking is even more troubling and concerning.
well it's as i said, the traffic comes from thousands of forums, you don't need great design when you get traffic that way. and the site designs, probably put together in less then an hour. i spend my time on gathering traffic, building links, marketing, etc, rather then site design. if i were to sell, i can provide links to extreme-dm tracking sites that prove my traffic. but, i think the moral of the story here is to just sit back and enjoy the sites and the residual income i get rather then to sell. my thought process was, if i DID get the right offer, i could sell and just start over, because i'm very good at building traffic and marketing.
Well, with such sites i don't think you will get the right offer, because as you said yourself the value is not so much in the sites (easy to make) but in the traffic. By selling the site, you are not selling any traffic guarantees. So i don't think anyone will buy your site for what you consider to be the "right offer". Best thing to do might be indeed to earn money with them and continue doing what you do best : traffic building and marketing.
