The life of affiliate marketing business depends on traffic. No traffic, no site to exist. It will help you increase your click ratio and sales commissions. Here are the 5 ways to drive visitors to your website: 1. Blogging - like a web diary where you can write interesting articles for readers. The articles you made can be use to link your readers to your site also known as back links. Back links can help you to improve search engine ranking. Register one of your blogs on blogspot.com and Google will promote your blog in 2 days with RSS feeds to gain more traffic. 2. Forums – a fun way to promote your business where you can post questions and answers to learn a lot and help others. Advertisements are not allowed here but you can display your email signature every time you post. 3. Viral Marketing - one of the oldest and best forms of marketing. You can give away an e-book on your site and have a couple of links and a full-page ad in the back for your product or service. Grant permission to your readers to give away the book and see this promotion snowball. 4. Social Marketing – one good example is MySpace. Myspace is now being used as a popular way of marketing products and services. 5. Article Distribution - a powerful way to promote your business where you can write interesting and informative articles for your readers. It will bring many visitors to your site.
I was thinking the same thing. Using blogs, forum, article marketing, etc to promote traffic is nothing new or revolutionary.
thanks for your great post!!! i still don't understand how twitter can help, but it does seem more effective than social bookmarking. by the way, i have a blog right now and am seeking writers to write about webmaster-related/online business topics in exchange for byline and the biography in the acknowledgements section. great for resume building. please let me know if you are interested. once again, many thanks for your suggestions. i will try my best to apply them : )

I think these are general and old ideas which are already known to all the webmasters. The need of the hour is to think of legitimate but innovative ways to draw the targeted audience.
^^ What he's talking about is actually a good way to drive traffic to your blog. If you can contact blog owners in your niche who have a large readership and you volunteer to do a "guest blog" for them, where you write a post for them with a link to your site included in your byline. Not only does the blog owner get free content and their audience get a new source of ideas, but you get exposed to their audience (who may then subscribe to your blog, opt-in to your list, buy your product, etc.).
I'm reading your article and could keep reading after 1). the 1), I call it spamming Let's go to 2) now...
I only think 1, 4, and 5 will work. The only true way to build up cash converting traffic is fresh content. All other traffic just takes up bandwidth.
Eh, we'll see. I've been doing a super lot of this lately, but nothing (in the way of jobs) has come of it yet. Of course my website (link in profile) is only 24hrs old. *laugh*
