Fishy descriptions

I have noticed something strange with one of my sites. Say it's name is Blue Widgets Online and the domain name is hxxp://www.bluewidgetsonline.com

When I search for Blue Widgets Online, the first serp is like this.

1.Blue Widgets Online home page - Meta Description
    2. (idented) Blue Widgets Online Forum - Text description

It's only recently that I rank for my business name - haven't had done so for 8 months. So, that's the good news.

But when I search for bluewidgetsonline, the serp is like this

1.Blue Widgets Online home page - DMOZ Description
    2. (idented)Very random page from my website, not related to the main page's content, which doesn't contain bluewidgetsonline anywhere in text, with Meta Description.

The random thing and the DMOZ description thing troubles me. Every other site I've checked appears in a more normal way when searched for it's domain name without the extension, for example, for redwidgetstore, I get

    1. Red Widget Store home page - Meta Description
    2. (idented) Page that actually contains the text "redwidgetstore" or an important page from redwidgetstore.com

Should I send Google an e-mail? Ever since my website has had weird serps for such unimportant searches, it has had low rankings for important ones too.

The DMOZ thing is normal. I am not sure about the random thing. It happens with my site as well.

The search engines will show what it considers to be the most relevant snippet of text. If the exact phrase searched for only appears in your meta description, then it will show that. If it appears elsewhere on the page then it will show snippets from one or two occurances of it.
