First time using AdSense - Question

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by hmilesjr, Oct 30, 2005.

After reading all these posts on Adsense revenue, I am thinking of opening up an AdSense account. I feel that financially, I am simply missing the boat on this. I have worked online promoting Affiliate programs mostly through PPC and some Natural Search placement for 2 years now, but have rejected the idea for fear of trading a $1 ad click for a loss of a $20 sale.

Anyway, I am wondering can you run AdSense if 75% of your traffic comes from PPC (mostly Overture). Is this a breach of the TOS.

Advertising with PPC programs is fine.

A violation is if you are showing other contextual ads on the same page as adsense.

As far as bleeding your sales through adsense...it varies, you will know soon enough by comparing your earnings to traffic before and after.

    Google prohibits excessive advertisement.

Why don't you simply apply for the Adsense Account?
The Adsense team will first review your site and then allow you to continue opening the Adsense account if they like your site.

I always thought the "excessive advertisement" referred to the number of ads on the page showing adsense. Not how much or how effective ads elsewhere for your site are.

    Am I wrong?

    policies....

    site may not include

    • excessive advertising

nothing to do with offsite advertising

but of course, I don't work for google. May as well ask them if you are in doubt.

If you already have it, you should take advantage of it.
