    Hello everyone.

Right now my works website is hosted by Yahoo Small Business. Theyve had this for years and Im looking to switch the hosting/domain provider to Bluehost. Mainly because Ive used Bluehost for years and its a lot cheaper, get a lot more features, better customer support, etc, etc.. Im looking to do this with as little interruption to service as possible. And even more important than that I need to make sure that everyone e-mails are still in tact. So basically we have our regular website, with 2 subdomains pointed to different sites. One is for ticketing and the other is our retail store. Neither of these are hosted by Yahoo. So along with the domain transfer I would have to repoint these subdomains, easy enough I suppose.

Now my real question is does anyone know how the e-mail transfers will work. We have 20-30 emails for our domain and everyone in the office uses Outlook through an exchange server. So my guess is to have everyone download their e-mails locally before the switch. But will this link up to the new e-mail servers automatically after the switch or will I have to change settings in everyone Outlook?

This is still a work in progress obviously but just trying to get a heads up on what Ill be getting into.

    Thanks!

My guess is that your mail settings point to a POP server under your domain name...so when the dns entries refresh to the new host your employees shouldn't need to setup the account settings again...however you will have to create all these accounts on the new server and also ask your users to change the passwords etc...On second thoughts your users SHOULD change their passwords even if you are the one in control of their passwords...You never know what happens to your old database after you leave....
