First time MSN fsockopen error

Got this error for the first time today:

fsockopen(): unable to connect to search.msn.com:80

No configuration changes on my side, been using the tool for months. Any ideas?

Searched this forum for msn and socket and did not find another thread.

    Also now kicking this error:

Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in (FILENAME SNIPPED) on line 218

I've seen that before but it seems to clear up on its own.

    Thanks!

MSN might be blocking your IP address.

Or your host might have a new firewall installed.

    But I'm a nice guy!

Mad4 - I doubt that is the case - with my package I think (could be wrong) I'd know about it.

Perhaps I should drop MSN off my checks for a few days to see if they drop my IP? Is it my ISP IP or the host (domain) they are blocking perchance?

    Thanks!

Yeah, it would be the IP you are running the advanced usage script on. Try running it on another machine if you can.

Today (without changing any configuration settings whatsoever) I'm now getting this error:

fsockopen(): unable to connect to api.google.com:80 (a whole bunch - no - have not exceeded my usage limit on API)

    and

fsockopen(): unable to connect to api.search.yahoo.com:80

    and

Invalid argument supplied for foreach() (in the advanced script on my server)

The issue I had at the top of this thread resolved itself over the following days - I did nothing but attempt a different time of day. The errors in this post came about late morning today, my time. I'm suspecting server load issues somewhere. Not my box though, this is a slow time of day for me.

No blame to anyone. Just trying to diagnose the issue. Note please that with the google and yahoo errors today, there were no MSN errors. Go figure!

Try altering your php settings to let allow longer for the connection to be made before it echos an error message.
