First Time Member, Long Time Lurker...

Just a quick note to say hello guys!

My name is Murray, i'm a saggitarius, i like long walks on the beach, watching movies when it rains out side, and hugging up under a warm blanket when its cold...

but seriously... i'm from Sydney Australia. and have an avid interest in anything that goes into, onto or near the internet. I accumulated all my certifications for help desk, network support, technical support, network admin, hardware, software etc back when Peter Norton still appeared on the box for his own product, and Mueller was still thinking about writing his book. I've worked in retail management for the past 10 years in 2 different industries, each a contrast to the other - and almost as far away from IT as you can get. I've dealt with customers with all sorts of issues, and had my eyes openned to the 'Us' and 'Them' mentallity that seems to be the culture for both customer and staff of any establishment. I've consulted businesses and rebuilt businesses, applying corporate concepts to small business operations bringing them up to, or creating an entirely new levels of success for many who felt that it was almost time to sell.

But more to the point, i like to fiddle and tweak things, build websites, outsource bits and pieces to amuse myself. I've thought alot lately about my 'hobby' and figured if i wake up to myself, i might be able to turn it into more than a hobby and maybe earn a buck or two.

I've started by looking into buying a few websites that are already established, and see what i can do with those, instead of starting with blank canvas, i think the fun will be in turning them into masterpieces.

...reading back over this, i don't like biographies, or introductions. i'm a pretty private person, but reading over this, i sound awesome! i wonder if i can use it in my resume?
