So today was a bittersweet day for my micro niche pet website. I finally broke the five-dollar a day barrier with Adsense and on the same day that I woke up and considered removing it to help highlight my store. Here is my thoughts, would love input. I am selling a product that nobody else sells (maybe 1 other person in the world, but I dominate the search). The Adsense ads are not a direct competition to my product, but they do take visitors away from the site. With my product I make about 3-7 bucks a sale and average about a sale or two a day. So right about what Adsense is making for me as well. I don’t know, should I take it off and push my product harder, or leave well enough alone? If they both average around $3.00 a day that is around $2200.00 a year with very little work involved. Thoughts?
Really a nice income if you are put a little work towards it per year. I would love to see such kind of income flowing to me.
Personally, I'd suggest you remove adsense ads from your website. If you would like your customers to take you as a professional, avoid generating revenue from ads, especially Adsense ads. I understand it is generating small but enough revenue for you now. But if you take my word, you should concentrate more on taking your business to next level. Improve your current product, or create a new product all together. Concentrate on upsells, giveaway bonuses. Try to build a customer's list by placing an autoresponder to your website (in the place of Google Adsense). Workaround with other marketers, create joint ventures. If you would really like to go from $7 a day to $700 a day, I'd suggest you think on long term basis. I hope I'm not coming over to you. I just thought I'd share this. Of course, in the end, it's your choice what to do with your website. Good luck!
congratulations you really made it. I have also same experience when i break my own barrier per day. Really sweet.
If you are making better in selling product, i will suggest to focus on it. Ads is not for long term while your own product can grow better and better
niche is defiantly a risky business and doesn't have the longevity of other larger authority sites. but hey congrats keep doing what your doing
I think it adds to your income, but if it's taking potential customers from your site, then you should definitely remove it
you should concentrate on promoting your side if ads are generating income then it should be there and product lover would go to product and not to your ads
