Hi, im going to be doing a wordpress blog. First of all, besides writing my own content, I would like my blog to be able to automatically get articles from one specific article site and post them automatically. The site offers feeds and im sure it has something to do with that to make it automatically post but how? I think there is some kind of software out there that does it but any way to do it myself even if it takes a lot of time to set up? Please point me to any tutorials that would help me set this up aswell as ,preferably free, software, pluggins needed.

Also, I would be grateful to know what are the most needed pluggins for seo, other, for wordpress.

Edit: Really, really want to know how to add google analytics to wordpress blog. i tried everything: pasted code in header, footer, index, used 2 different pluggins, and nothing!

If this is your first blog, and you want to auto feed it with articles...then why even start it up in the first place?

My first suggestion would be to plan on creating your own content and taking it seriously. That is the only way that you have even half of a shot at being successful.

Also...Wordpress.com doesn't allow you to make any money, (1 link I think), so if it isn't for money, and you want to auto post...what is the point?

Get a little more organized about what you want to accomplish, and that will dictate which direction you go.

First time out, with no direction, Wordpress.com is a good choice, when you have a plan and a direction, (and hopefully that includes monetization) then you will want to export that into your own hosted Wordpress.org Blog.

Well for now, its pretty much for my own use and education. i don't want to have to check up those sites for related content all the time and just have them combine in just my blog with the content I need. This will help me out in writing my own content later on. This is why im so interested in getting this automated content.

    thanks

Well, the automated content isn't really a good idea. A lot of people almost look at that like it's stealing... even though you may give them credit. But I don't know of a plugin for that...

I dont think most people look or atleast should not look at it that way because they are actually getting free advertising and their name out to anyone that uses their content. I think they are actually happy with that(unless the person completely removes all links and author and makes it look like his own). The original author still get the credit from google for unique content since his was cached first and the person using it might actually get penalized from google. So if someone was using my content, I would even pay them! haha

Not exactly true. Where as the link back is still there in most cases, most of the software auto generates an authors name.
The whole notion of using other peoples content to drive clicks to your Adsense, is disgusting.

If you can't write your own content, then why bother with a blog at all?
Blogging is writing...if you don't have time to do it, why just be another scraper out there duplicating content all over the internet?

Most bloggers have more pride than that, and attempt to create something that they are proud of.
What do you tell your family and friends, "Yeah, I have a site that steals content, so that I can make a few bucks off of it." ?

Eightrix, the issue goes beyond just the original poster of the content, what will your users think? Why should I go to your blog if I can go to wherever you are getting this content from and get the same thing from a site with better standing. If you can't offer your users a unique viewpoint, or at least your own voice, what is the point? It is better to just hold off launching your blog for a while and take that time to build up your own bag of articles.

As for analytics, I put mine in the footer of my self hosted WP blog and didn't have a problem. It does take a day or two for analytics to realize your blog is all set. Try using site scan to see if your code is entered properly.

You'll go there if i will be spending a few hours a day looking for articles that are on a specific topics and posting them all in one place. Would you rather research for hours just to get some info on a disease or something else?
