I am planning to sell one of the websites that I have been working on, but I have never sold a webstie before. What is the best way to go about doing it and how do i start?
First, you need to come up with a selling price. There are a variety of ways to determine this, but a simple calculation is yearly profit x 3 years. Keep in mind, the number of years you use is determined by a variety of factors (ie: website niche, reputation, popularity, brand regognition, page rank, etc.). But I would say paying for 3 years of earnings is about average...
I would go to a website marketplace like Flippa.com and observe the auctions. You will see what information buyers ask for, what information sellers provide. Try to find a site that is in a similar space as yours and see how popular the auction is (keep in mind all the factors as stated by fpaulego can impact the popularity).
Sold it a flippa !!!!! or you may just provide this web design services and earn money base on their request. usually selling a site is not that easy ...unless it would be a nice template ! high pr website ! or base on their business need.
First of all an income projection/ annum. then chart a portfolio this will help you better to sell your site
Peachncream I think this daddy03 has a really good ideas for selling website at Flippa.com and definitely study it carefully before going further.
Not a lot , the domain name is not bad . I'd say that is 10 to 100 but the rest of the website is next to worthless . It's just a (badly designed) blog filled with YouTube free content . Judging by the interest for this niche the traffic is also low . So the only thing worth anything is the domain name . Sorry to say this but don't get any hopes .
thanks for the feedback. I was told that the domain was worth at least 50 on its own because it is 8 years old and pr2.
The best way would be is reading some articles on successful website buying and selling.I know many people make a good amount of money by selling website in Flippa. You can read their experience too by searching in Google.
