Hey guys, a merry christmas to all of your first! Im almost done with http://www.bobcatnightlife.com It is a directory of bars/restaraunts/clubs for Texas State University (San Marcos, TX). It going to have a picture gallery and a live music schedule. I plan on launching it on new years, and I was hoping to pick everyone's brains on how they would advertise this site to my somewhat small audience (25,000 students). I am also trying to come with some ways other than adsense,textlinkads, etc.. to monetize the site? I would love to hear anyone ideas and opinions! Thanks
I would say you could make some flyers and signs to put around campus. Put them up in places there there are tons of Students. This will be just a start. See if you can find anything like craigslist or anything like that for TSU and post there. Make sure to give the URL in your sig, and have some good recomendations already in place. That's just my .02
good idea, over the past few days i have been in contact with school staff trying to get approval for my flyers. has anyone had any experience with cold calling local business in attempt to sell advertising space?
Have flyers and have the advertisement up top and then lots of tabs with your URL that people can rip off and take with them. I would recomend to make it nice and simple and make it look bright and so it grabs the attention. Might also consider putting a screenshot of your site. Just my .02. Hope it goes good.
