To begin, I'd like to ask the Mod's to not sugar-coat the descriptions underneath our names. If you believe that we are Peon's, then I guess that's the price we pay for the rite-of-passage.

In any event, it's good to be here and I'm looking forward to learning a lot from all of you experienced "old" Peons.

    Cheers,

"Peon" is an interesting term. In some circles it is really quite an insult to be called a Peon.

I'm sure that Shawn is not trying to insult all his new members, but there are probably better words that could be used for new members.

So Shawn what comes after "grunt"? And how many posts does it take to get there?

How about "forum newbie" and "forum regular". I don't know what comes next, but there are some very knowledgeable people out there, and to call them a Peon just because they have just joined the forum may be considered a bit of a put down.

I didn't even notice the rank until the first person made it to "grunt".

I say to leave them just as they are. I'm not concerned with what my rank is... I'm more interested in the valuable information I get from this forum.

30 posts to be a grunt, 100 posts to the next level (which I'm not going to tell until someone gets it... but I think someone is close).

When you are in a specific forum, there is a "New Thead" button in the upper left.

    Hey Shawn -

Can we all come up with a better rank for you than Administrator. Now that is boring. ;) How about Chief Mucky Muck?

well I like this forum because it's not so boring and genaric, but still has useful information. there are other forums that are very useful as well, but they need some flair, and I think if you get offended/bothered by Peon, Grunt, Nerd, newbie, jerk, whatever as an internet messageboard name then I think a lot of things bother you and maybe you got some issues to work out.

eh. I don't want to sound all pissy, so I will stop there. this is all in fun right?
    weeeeee!!!

How about Emperor? Or keep with the Warcraft theme with just plain and simple Hero because I am sure we all admire your mad scripting skillz and awesome tools that make our lives easier.

    Am I right everybody?

    Yes, I like Hero. ;)
