    Actually as a matter of fact, Google places newly started site on top for first few days. It's said they do so to rank it well! (don't know whether it's true)

    But even my newly started blog ranks on 2nd page for "List of directory sites" which is too common searched!

    just an advise, try researching your keywords a bit more, go for keywords that are more "competitive" and thos who convert well :D

    This is a good start. Judging from the responses in the thread, you have picked an up and coming keyword. Three days is is on the high end but plausible. I usually just expect to have a page one ranking 7 business days out depending on the key phrase, the searches per month, and the amount of results per month. Keep up the good work.

    Blogging is corrupting. I don't even build sites anymore. I content out blogs and it is well, well, well worth it. Congrats.
