On sport sites, i've seen all names is in format Last Name + First name. Smith Michael. It's unusual for my country. In USA, Canada and UK how are using to write? Smith Michael or Michael Smith? I mean sports, news, ets sites, not talking in your live.
In the U.S. we typically talk about Michael Smith. When doing something in alphabetical order, we use Smith, Michael. We NEVER use Smith Michael.
It depends on the country/language. In Hungary, it's family name - given name (Kovacs Janos aka Smith John). In Romanian, it's the other way around, with the given name preceding the family name being the norm but sometimes, a reverse order is used. In English, it's usually the given name first (John Smith) except for the case described above. In Russian, it's given name - father's given name - family name (Ivan Ivanovich Kopolov) While in some Northern European languages, the format is similar but with no family name (Thor Odinsson literally means Thor, son of Odin) - this is why Iceland has the only phone book where the names are sorted by given name rather than family name.
