Greetings to all Analytics Pros, Me (web designer/developer) & my friend (investment banker) recently launched a website a month back and named it as "want2rich.com". It's a fianance/ investment related website and our primary target audience are resident Indians and NRIs. Website just completed a month of it's existence so we are very excited. We must admit we are not that versed with Google Analytics and thus our lack of knowledge to understand how we performed so far. We do not have any previous data and we do not know to evaluate our website's performance. So we thought to share with you and to know your thoughts/ suggestions/ feedbacks. We would really appreciate and love to know how do you analyze the performance of a month old website. Thanks and below are few stats grabed from GA. 1,241 Visits 620 Unique Visitors 4,682 Pageviews 3.77 Pages/Visit 00:05:38 Avg. Time on Site 53.10% Bounce Rate 48.51% % New Visits Traffic Source 48.35%Search Traffic 600 Visits 23.13%Referral Traffic 287 Visits 28.44%Direct Traffic 353 Visits Cheers Radiant
At first glance I would say your website is good: half of your visitors returned to the site, you have a good time on site and multiples pages per visit. The bounce rate could be better tho, but it depends on how you promoted the website.
Wow, this is why I love DP, the responce is so quick. Thanks Aurele. So, couple of factors looks good and what should be the bunce rate? any range ? We should be achieveing for 100%? (any referal how to do would be great). Promotions - we did little, we just been commented in other website/ blogs and aticles. (I added some more stats of Traffic source in the first post)
The bounce rate is the rate at which people "bounce" from your site after loading a page. The lower the better, because it show people are interested in your content. I'm not quite sure about how low it should be for a blog though, I'll let more experienced bloggers answer to that. Half of your visitors from search engines with these Time on site and pages/visit is really great. Keep it up!
No offense, not pretty good! I would say you may need do more content upgrade work to make the website more attractive! Then the visitors would like to spend more time on your web viewing! That is a long-term way to make your website better in the future!
Thanks kiddoman to be honest and providing us your valuable opinion. We are working hard to update more content and quality ones.
Thanks again, valuable tips on "Bounce Rate" and analyzing time on site. Gave us confidence that we are not lost on the way.
Hello buddy your site is performing well.Every thing is going well according to average site's performance.Nice Report for a newer account holder on Google Analytics Account.
Your site looks good and the statistics are promising. You must just keep promoting it and do not stop at any cost. Keep up to good work.
Pretty impressive. Although you might want to lower the bounce rate by offering something engaging for the users.. Just my two cents. Cheers mate.
Thanks & appreciate your time to review stats. I see now, bounce rate should be concern for the website. I am planning to get few related links in the articles, also next and previos post link at the bottom of an article. anyone with more tips would be great. thanks
You said your website was only up 1 month but your traffic statistic says "48.51% New Visits". I say that's quite not good for starting website unless your domain was been up sometime with no content or with different content. Otherwise, you need to work more on your traffic and promotions.
It's fairly a new domain, purchased on 7th April and Website went live on 1st May. 7th to 31st it had nothing and no GA code as well. Only we we promoted so far commenting finance niche blogs.
