First impression of my squeeze page?

I would like some honest opinions on your first impression of this:
    http://www.personaldevelopmentbooks-members.net/

Is it appealing? Does it make you want to sign up?
I know that the graphic is pretty crappy. It's because of the downsizing of the images.

Any tips on what I should work on?

Doesn't even look unique compared to thousands of other sites just like it. Get some background color in there first off, then try doing something different and unique. I grade this a C-

    Looks like horse dung.

NOT being mean being Honest - :)

Here is what I would do

    1) Head over to the BST of this forum and post a contest for $25 for the best landing page and post that as an example of what you want,

    2) Make sure that sign up box is higher, Someone with a few browser tool bars will never see that.

Image is everything , it will be the best money you spend

This is MY opinion only and just assume everything I say is whatever if you want :)

    Thanks for the feedback.
The problem with the signup box is that it's already placed on the bottom of the page (premade script). Everything I add is placed over the sign up box.
would it be a better solution to keep the sign up page separated as a single page, and put a link on the squeeze page that says "sign up here"?

you know, i have to disagree sundaybrew. he's right, your site does look like horse dung, or worse, but it doesn't matter. why? it doesn't matter because the kind of people who go for this kind of stuff don't know about design, and in fact seem to prefer this kind of design (if you can call it that). they like things centered, in red, horribly laid out... if you give them a professional website, they'll never find whatever they are supposed to click on or sign up for. so, in conclusion, i don't think you need to change anything, except add a little more hype in huge bold letters, blinking letters, and customer testimonials, centered and in oversized times roman italic in bright blue, and so on.

Well, I wouldn't mind if it had a more professional feel though. I have posted a competition now. Let's see what happens.

I think you might be on to something monosodium, but how can you be sure about this? Why wouldn't design savvy people also be into this?
