So, in looking at bidding directories around the web, I have notice the poor coding standards (mostly due to the scripts). Can I say I have the first valid HTML 1.0 Strict and CSS bidding directory on the web? I have not seen anyone publish it, nor have I found any looking around the internet. Valid CSS Valid XHTML Bidding Directory
to be honest i dont think anyone is really fussed. It would only take a few mins to make mine valid Congrats anyway
Well done. Nice job! I haven't really noticed with other bid directories. Its not top of my list things to check as long as the site is viewable. Its a nice achievement though
Took me over 2 days to do it because the code was SOOO bad. I just like clean code, and hopefully it helps Search Engines crawl my site.
i am one of the people who gives a fuss about xhtml and css with my new designs www.madmouse-extreme-directory.com that was made long ago .. and it is xhtml and css valid. So you are not the first ever ...
i dont know maybe he can explain lol... i let w3 detect it automatically and i think it is just the placement of header codes ...
It detects your code by: Strict is just that, more strict XHTML coding standards. Transitional lets you get away with a few of the old HTML coding "flaws". Not 100% sure of this, but I believe it is easier for Search Engines to crawl a Strict site, but having valid code that corresponds to your DOCTYPE is the most important factor.
Transitional is a little more lenient than strict. Both of them are acceptable, and claiming a site better because it is strict over transitional is just hogwash.
