First day using Google Adsense on my blog and I had:

    - 81 Page Impressions
    - 1 Click
    - CTR of 1.23%

    AND

    *drum roll*

    I earned a grand total of....$0.33!!! :D

    hahaha

Can anybody give a few tips to a "n00b"?

    Thanks ladies and gents
    Ben

It might help if you show us your site so we can review your ad placement, etc. :)

33 cent pay out is very good man. Keep it up, I hardly get 10 cent average per day.

Behnaam, a short tip for you is to work on improving traffic, further provide a link to your URL so you can have ad placement suggestion that might increase your CTR.

    Goodluck

IMHO, the ads which are placed after the blog archive are not nice. Remove them and put an ad unit in each post instead.

I'm not allowed to have an ad unit in EACH post. I thought you were only allowed a certain number per site...

Also, if I were to put a few ad units in my posts, what size would you recommend them to be?

Keep only 3 posts on your homepage and it's okay... if you'll put some on your posts, I suggest using rectangles or squares. :)

    Thanks:)
One more question though. You mentioned keeping only 3 posts on my homepage. Do you mean I should only have 3 posts on my blog and never add to it? Sorry, I'm a bit confused :$ haha

Just my personal preference, but I wouldn't put three rows of advertisement above the content.

Do not reveal your CTR, it is against AdSense's TOS.

That's very good. I have waited 3 weeks for Google to accept my request and since 3 days ago no click. I have more than 500 visitors per day.

Get more traffic, impressions, and try to find some high paying keywords while keeping up a respectable level of posts. Don't stoop to poor quality in an effort to win high paying keywords, it usually doesn't work out so well. Keep trying and building it takes a while sometimes. Play around with different ad formats and see if different sizes, types, or locations help. Sometimes they do a lot.
