Just started a new website dedicated to he upcoming game guitar hero 3.

I set up a guitar hero 3 marketplace with all types of Guitar hero products. According to amazon ive had about 50 click-thrus so far and no sales.

All traffic is from the 3 major search engines so it is pretty targeted.

Im looking for ways to first increase click-thrus and actually get a purchase.

Here is the website: Guitar Hero 3

I believe i read somewhere that having many affiliate links hurt search rankings?
Im not sure if its the reason, but since adding the Guitar Hero Marketplace to my site my google serp rankings have gone significantly down. Do you think its worth having such a marketplace?

Im looking for insightful information as to how to get some amazon sales via the website.

As well as the worth of having the marketplace altogether.

    Thanks in advance.

    Brendan

First off, this is a very specific niche.

When they visit, they might want more information on if it is possible to preorder Guitar Hero III. Is it? If it is, then you want to direct them there. Even if it is not available yet, direct them to the product page. And say something like "Offer Alert Available" click to visit.

It may just not be a good niche to promote. Anyway though, don't get disheartened about 50 clicks no sale. On average I get a 3% conversion ratio.

Yes i looked for guitar hero 3 to sell, but its not available yet. The site is currently a work in progress as new information becomes available i add more.

Im sure as the game releases i can sell copies of the game since that is what they are coming there for and im assuming that most of them already have the previous games.

Im thinking about taking out the big marketplace page and just putting the lastest released game Guitar hero: rock the 80s in the header spot until the actual Guitar hero 3 comes out.

I was on the first page serps for "Guitar Hero 3" for a while and was getting 300+ uniques a day from google alone. And as the games release comes closer i can only see it growing. But since adding the marketplace ive fallen off the face of the earth as far google search results go. The marketplace is only thing i changed at the point where i fell off. If im not making any sales, i cant see it being worth it to kill my google traffic that was generating about $3-5 bucks a day via adsense.

I have to do some research as it pertains to affiliate links and seo.

I think im going to take off the whole marketplace page, add "GH: Rock the 80s" to the header and see where it goes from there. What do you guys think? Being a complete newbie at affiliate marketing I'd love to hear from some more people.
