I was on Yahoo today and noticed an article about the first affordable flying car. I guess it will be coming out soon at a price of 200,000 plus. Doesn't sound to affordable to me. What are your thoughts on this?

I think you are talking about the one the guys from England made. They are drive/flying it to Tinbuktu (sp?) which is apparently a real place. It looks like a Honda Odyssey with a parasail they use as a wing.

I thought there was a company pushing for cheap personal jets. I think Honda might have been investing into it.

I saw a different one which looks like a dune buggy. Looks like a car, but has a deployable para-wing.

    Awesome .
$200,000 is quite affordable for many rich businessman .
The problem is how they dirve or fly in the highway or in the sky, any transportation rules for such cars .

That thing is awesome! I would love to have one. The article says you have to drive to the airport to take off, so if you don't, and take off from your neighborhood street, who's going to chase you down to give you the ticket?

I'd love to have one, but I sure hope I never have that opportunity. I get frustrated enough when I just need to worry about the people around me when driving, I can't even imagine if I had to worry about the person above me landing on top of me.

It's times like this I realise The Jetsons lied to me. :( I thought we'd all be flying around in them by now, and that looks nothing like George Jetsons ride!

50 years ago there was a dude that lived near us that had a car that he drove all the time. When he wanted to go a long ways, he attached a pair of wings and flew it there. Once there he took the wings off and drove it like a normal car again.

I can remember him driving past our place several times a week for over 10 years in that car. And I always wanted to meet the dude, but never did.

I used to know his name, but I have long forgotten it.

a flying car would be so necessary in the future with this messy traffic which is driving all of us crazy...
Is 200,000 affordable for a flying car?
Anyway not for me and not now :D
