First Adsense site on the table

    Hi everyone,

    Launched my first adsense enabled site today, just something I put together over a day or so. Very excited to grow the site and a few others.

    Any tips for a newbie? I've covered a lot of the stuff you can find on the net already.

    The only real advice you can give someone is DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT THE SYSTEM

    So many newbies try to abuse AdSense and it will pay off well to you if you are well to it. If you're placing ads mixed in with Content such as articles or blog posts, then use text advertisements as they blend in better.

    If you're using ads on the sidebar, the header or in places that distract the readers attention away from the text, use picture ads and try to keep the ads inside of your content small and you'll find a higher CTR.

    Every website differs though, so just try different things and keep track of your traffic and your different AdSense layouts.

    Number 1 tip is don't expect too much. Number 2 tip is to memorize Google's terms of service. And don't forget to have fun.
