anyone know how to do this. ?

    getting really frustrated..and wasting time.

I did search the web and found no tutorials.

i am new at fireworks too.

I have a transparent gif image of a person I want to put on a dark background.

the problem is the outer edges are white and once I import it you can see them clearly.
I tried to feather it, but feathering is only in white..and not offered in black or other color shades. ? I basically want it to blend in with the header.

    Thanks for any suggestions

    Hi Lukas,

Try using index transparency - go to help section of Fireworks and search on 'index transparency' and it will bring up the details that explains it better than I can.

Also you might try setting the matte color to same color as background you're putting it on.

Another thing to try is erasing the edges so there is no color on background at all. I find it helpful to set the canvas color to a dark color temporarily so i can see what I need to erase easier, then once I'm done erasing I change canvas color back to transparent.

    Hope this helps.
