Firewall blocking FTP

Discussion in 'Security' started by Andy Lippis, Sep 11, 2012.

    Hi Guy,

I'm using ConfigServer Security & Firewall - csf v5.60 and I can only use FTP when this firewall is disabled. Does anyone know what setting would be doing this? or could it be a different port i should be using.

    Thanks.

    Hello there,

Is the site on a VPS? If so, you may have to open up the PASV port range in the FTP servers configuration, as well as opening up the ports on the firewall. This is what the readme states:

    Regards,
    Chris

Chris is completely right. This is the setting required for VPS and dedicated servers however when using the CSF firewall.
