    Hi,

I only started this thread for one reason really :

I'm on a machine with only 256MB RAM (WinXP) so obviously when RAM runs low the machine runs poorly.

I've noticed firefox can consume A LOT of ram.

Before I closed it FF was consuming about 100 MB with peak usage of about 130 MB -FOR A WEB BROWSER-.

    This seems insanely high IMHO.

Right now I got opera going with three tabs and it's using about 50 MB, 1/2 of what the fox was using with the same three tabs open.

I'ma use opera for a bit and see how it do ;)

I've had opera for a while and used them on and off for years but some WYSIWG editors and other advanced web features don't work in opera.

    thoughts ?

(besides trying to justify/explain firefox's memory issues, i know a few of the reasons it consumes a lot of ram)

    FF is a hog!

I've been using Opera more lately because Dreamweaver8 and Firefox 1.5.4 are giving me huge problems when open at the same time.
