Definitely FireFox. The extensions make it very very powerful.

Firefox, and the essential web developer extension

although if it weren't for extensions, I'd be using Opera

I first started using FF because of the tabs and a few extensions that I rarely used but after using IE7, I can live without the extensions.

I love firefox, earlier in the thread people talked about how it was more unstable than IE, and Watchdog said that it was the users fault if their computer broke because of the IE7 beta, well surely its also partly the users fault if they get a virus on their computer? and for not protecting their computer properly, since you say that firefox is dangerous for viruses.

Firefox all the way! I have IE7 and like the fact that it's getting better - but it's still not "user friendly" enough for me. I think it's a VERY cheap version of Firefox.

firefox is the way to go, very cheap on resources and excellent at handling css pages as per css1.0 specification. IE still has issues with the layout, you have to hack your CSS to make it work with IE. Sadly enough, it is still the major browser used by users

IE is integrated in your Windows, that's why it loads faster (because it's already loaded)

FF has to load everything from the beginning, it checks for updates only after it's loaded

Does not explain why a browser like Opera can load faster than IE though.

I like Firefox, but I HATE that damn clipboard issue! You would think they would have that fixed by now!

Well. Opera is done by a company, and as such has very neat tight codes.

Fire on the other hand is a community product. With tons of support and free extensions. Opera is good, I dont deny it. But its loads pages 40% slower than FF on my comp.

Secondly FF does take a lot of memory, but then if you hack its config, you can lower the amount of RAM dedicated to it. And lastly IE is no competition for FireFox, and as stated earlier it loads faster just coz its a part of the system itself.

FF has lots of extensions written by numerour authors. And all extensions are not a tight fight or written in tightest codes. So you cant expect it to load as fast as OPERA, thats just plain unfair. IF you want fast loading SO bad, then just bloody unload the extensions and all the addon's!

But then, we use FF coz of the simplisity its extension gives it dont we? We just love its innumerable features!!

If you want to compare opera to fire, talk about the features, the extensions, the speed with which KNOWN bugs are fixed, and the updates.

I am sure anyone who enjoys a great product would love FireFox. I am all for the mozilla foundation!

    You Rock FireFOX!

i tried IE7 at college and it's a real PAIN.
i was using IE6 uptil now, but now i'm in the process of "converting"... i think firefox is much safer and easier to use (the tabs structure is good).

If Opera loads slower on your computer than FF, then something is seriously wrong with with your computer. Opera is proven to be faster than FFand just because your computer may have an issue does not negate that fact.

You may want to read about the latest FF as well at http://slashdot.org/articles/06/08/31/1958219.shtml where they make the observationmany times that FF is basically becoming like Opera.

Well, I mentioned clearly "On my comp", and its not just me there are plenty out there who face the same.

And I assure nothing is wrong with my comp, coz I face the same on win 2000 as well as XP.

Thanks for the link though that makes an interesting read.

Opera is great, but I like FF more because of its extensions... IE is the second league, I only use it to check my site in it :)
