Firefox loads pages faster for me than IE, much faster. I love tabbed browsing, and saving small groups of tabs by subject.

    Firefox is great! :)

I use FF myself and will never ever use IE again. When IE 7 beta first came out, I installed it and it crashed my pc. I had to reformat and reinstall everything. ^%*&$%*& IE

    LMAO

Firefox is over-rated. IE7 is stable and renders pages well. It will also soon account for 85-90% of browser usage as people upgrade to it or upgrade or replace their computers to allow Windows XP/Vista to be installed.

Firefox will always be an also-ran. Why? Because it is promoted largely by people that don't know what they are talking about. How many people have that familar "Get Firefox" link on their sites? How many of them know why they have the link there? Most will say because it's cool, secure, not made by Microsoft, etc. It's not cool, it's ignorant. It's not secure, it's quite insecure, especially as hackers have started releasing trojans that 'play' quite well with the browser, making any version of IE look as secure as a vault at the Reserve Bank.

I remember when Opera came out and everyone was singing its praises. The novelty wore off and it will wear off Firefox too.

Quote from Neptune's post: I use FF myself and will never ever use IE again. When IE 7 beta first came out, I installed it and it crashed my pc. I had to reformat and reinstall everything. ^%*&$%*& IE

Do you expect a miracle from BETA software? The idea of beta releases is to test software, provide feedback on its features and ergonomics and report bugs. A warning also comes with it that says words to the effect of, "Do not install this software on mission-critical machines". What part of that sentence don't you understand? If you judge a public final software release on a bad run with a trial then you are kidding yourself.

I highly disagree. IE is used mostly used by people that do not know FF exists. I also installed it after the release and it still sucks. If I had to use IE I would use IE6 with the msn toolbar.

IE is mostly used by people that can't be bothered installing software that isn't an improvement on the status quo. If Firefox had something to offer the average computer user then people would get it. Talk about Firefox is rife so I doubt seriously that people generally don't know it exists.

I re-iterate my comments about IE7 Beta - if you (or anyone) installs beta software and it messes with the operating system then that is the fault of the user installing it, not the software vendor. I'll add in support of that statement that I installed the first beta of IE7 and whilst I found it stable it did have problems rendering some sites. Firefox wasn't too impressive in its beta stages either. I have replaced IE7 Beta with the latest version and there are improvements to page rendering and the GUI. The browser behaves perfectly as far as I can see.

Here is an article that backs up my claim of Firefox being a permanent and distant second-place competitor: <http://zdnet.com.au/news/software/soa/Firefox_not_being_aggressive_enough_/0,2000061733,39265488,00.htm>

I am sure if you dig up on IE you would way more trojans and lapses. I agree IE7 is better than firefox when it comes to stability. But Firefox gives me more features and its more of convenience.

IE7 will be an also ran in the years to come since mozilla suite is now being replaced by seamoney... and mozilla is only concentrating on firefox and thunderbird. I am not her to sing praises.

But just use logic, IE7 would have more users (BY DEFAULT AS IT COMES BUNDLED WITH windows!) so more hackers are inclined to devise ways to crack it. If someone just wants securite.. heck go with something like OS TIGER!! and get off windows. Security is a consideration. But my personal emphasis was on features.

You have other tools to plug the down points of firefox.

Over all FIREfox is free. Made by the community for the community. AND I SUPPORT that community.

Mozilla is new, and does not have the billions of dollars of backing that IE has.

Its more of me personal passion for the community and to support the cause of GPL.

    Go FIREFOX Go

I just this past week started using FF 100%.

I wont be going back to IE no matter what. To many exploits and crap that goes on with that browser. Plus, their css support is sh*t. I despise having to always check and recheck and recheck when doing anything web related, because IE cannot seem to conform to what all the other browsers do.

    FF all the way.

    I've got them all.

But I prefer Firefox thanks to the community, extensions, plugins,ad blocking solutions etc. It's got everything that I need :)
