I don't know yet about Chrome, still in love with Firefox... Chrome is simple, but too simple...
    Perhaps later :)

    Currently I use the following:
Firefox 3.x - for the speed
Flock 2.x - for the functionality
IE 7.x - for testing only

I have used Opera in the past, yet some sites won't accept anything other than Netscape Navigator and IE as browsers (those sites should be shot, then shut down). I don't own a Mac, so I won't comment on them. I have used the basic browser included with Linux distros, and find them acceptable.

When I switched from FF 2.x to 3.x I saw a big speed improvement when opening the browser - I keep to many tabs open once. Since Flock is based on FF 2.x I hit the speed problems, yet I am willing to put up with it because of the social networking (i.e., free promotion/link building) built in. I'll have to consider Google's Chrome - just because it is beta doesn't mean much with Google - look at Google's Base (formerly Froogle) - it is still in beta <lol>.

I notice that no-one has Micro$oft's IE on their list of top browsers :D I can't say I would either - to many security issues for me, no matter what they do.

Just throwing in my two cents. If you don't like my opinion I do offer a refund - there is a $10 processing fee and a 20% restocking fee ;)

Guys google came into the race late - maybe in a years time Chrome will be as good as firefox. The only reason that it is "faster" (i honestly can't even tell).. is because the lack of addon's and the simplicity of it.

peopl who say chrome is faster are they testing with a fresh installation of firefox with no add-ons?

that would be the only fair comparision

as for opera - yes i think it is the fastest browser but again i dont have any add ons for that browser (apart from the developer toolbar) whilst i have about 10 on firefox - (most related to web browsing)

    both excellent browsers though

I am using Chrome since it's release , it crashes a lot while viewing page with rich java script and flash. But as far as the browsing speed is concerned Chrome is faster and Firefox may have to work more on it's speed and also the memory consumption is very high in Firefox.
